Barcelona

Culture, bars and beaches in a fascinating mix of a city; yes it’s easy to understand the attraction behind Barcelona. Nowhere else is it possible to get deeper into the renaissance or in a wine list with no ending at a chic wine bar, and a couple of minutes later lay flat out at some trendy beach. Barcelona has it all and most of it within walking distance, and the motto is usually more is more. There are no less than four beaches in the city.

Don’t forget the food when you visit Barcelona. Barcelona offers everything from the most trendy tapas bars, Catalan and Spanish food, and high class “fine dining”. Read more about the best tapas bars here in Timeout’s guide by clicking here, Barcelona’s best tapas. A visit to Barcelona’s Boqueria is a “don’t miss”. La Boqueria is Barcelona’s most well-known food market, probably also one of Europes best food markets. Here you will find all the Spanish specialties to bring home. You can also enjoy a meal, click here to get an overview of the restaurants!

The most popular beach, Barceloneta, is located in the city centre. The quietest beach is Plaja Sant Sebastia, while the most sporty is Nova Icaria and the most family-friendly Plaja Mar Bella. The variety of bars is out of this world and trendier than ever. In Barcelona, you wake up late or don’t even go to bed. The crowd is students living life, anticipating tourists and locals ready to party. Regardless of you choosing a lively jazz bar or a sweaty tech club, the night will turn to dawn before it’s quiet again. When we are ready to go again it’s time to get cultural. What fits better than to be amazed by La Sagrada Familia that never seems to get done. The church started to get built in 1882 and today, a hundred and thirty years later, there are only a few who can discern the completion.

Do as many others do, experience Barcelona during a weekend trip, at least once a year if you can!
