Germany

Norwegian Holidays offers trips to big German cities like Berlin and Hamburg in the north, and Munich in the state of Bavaria in the south. Prepare for a party you will never forget when Octoberfest, in Munich, invites you to dance. Regardless of your destination you can decide for yourself when you want to travel and for how long you want to stay, and you will be able to enjoy everything a big European city has to offer.

Berlin is perhaps the most visited city for a weekend break. But also Hamburg increases in popularity as a destination. Berlin has a dark history with the rise and fall of the Berlin wall, and there is plenty to see and learn. Here you will also find a modern selection of restaurants and entertainment, and a lot to see if you are interested in history and art.

Germany has become a popular tourist destination during the last decade and the German cities have progressed enormously. Today a lot of people go here, not just for a weekend.

Food and drinks

If you want to experience Germany like a local you have to try German delicacies like currywurst, sauerkraut and dumplings (Klöße). The last one is a vegetarian type of stuffed dumplings. To this you will of course have a beer and maybe you finish it all off with the German herb liqueur, Jägermeister. Germany’s cuisine has, in many ways, affected it’s Swedish counterpart and German dishes such as bratwurst and wienerschnitzel are more common than uncommon at a Swedish dining table. Germany also produces good wine in Rhen and Moselle Valley and in the cities you will find a wide selection of restaurants with influences from the entire world.
