The Corona virus

What is happening in Europe and other parts of the world now is extreme, and our main priority is to act based on the situations occurring in certain countries and destinations due to the Corona virus, as fast as we can.

PLEASE – DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL US UNTIL YOUR TRAVEL IS WITHIN 7 DAYS, AT THE PRESENT WE CAN ONLY HANDLE URGENT MATTERS.

ALL official decisions taken that affect a travel to a destination and/or from a departure location or departure country, are found under the “Current situation” section below.

This page is continuously updated, no other official information exists, so we ask you to respect this and to read this information closely before you call or write us.

If your travel is not mentioned on this page, it will, as the situation is right now, be performed as planned.

Please note that some of the decisions made by certain governments have not been coordinated with other (neighboring) countries.

In those cases, we have not received any official information regarding the legal aspects of potential re-funds, and therefore we cannot at this time either answer or act on this.

If you request such answers before those aspects have been sorted and communicated, we ask you to contact your insurance company.

When will your case be dealt with?

We must now focus 100% on the travelers that are affected, and our extended customer service team is working 24/7 to handle all the errands that are flowing in, and they are doing so, without exceptions, in a clear and legally prioritized order:

  • Affected travels with departure today, will be dealt with first.
  • Affected travels with departure tomorrow, will be dealt with thereafter, and so on …

EVERYONE affected will be contacted by us, direct and personally – this we guarantee.

Your travel has been cancelled – what happens next?

In case a travel cannot be performed as booked due to official authorities’ recommendations, we are obliged by the Swedish Package Travel Law to attempt to provide an equivalent alternative.If this is physically impossible or if the situation is of such character that we together with our partners to/on/from the destination cannot deliver the travel as contractually agreed, it will be cancelled. Affected customers have been contacted.

Due to the extraordinary situation and an extremely high workload, the processing of refund requests for cancelled travels will take significantly longer than usual. We ask for your indulgence and understanding.

You have not received any cancellation information – how come?

If there is no such situation that impacts our possibility to deliver a booked travel to a specific destination, the travel will be performed as planned and standard cancellation terms and conditions apply.

You have received an offer to re-schedule directly from the airline

If you are presented with an offer directly from an airline or hotel regarding re-scheduling of a flight or a hotel stay that is a part of the package travel you have purchased from us, be aware of that re-scheduling on your own accord will result in the termination of the purchase agreement with us.
If you would accept such an offer – or offer to convert flight or hotel stay to air miles, points, gift certificate or other type of voucher with other supplier/partner than us – you will not be entitled any kind of refunding of the package travel purchased from us.

Which cancellation rules apply?

Possibility to cancel a travel that can be performed
If someone in the travel group have a medical condition that is identified to be among those placing the individual at risk of contamination with COVID-19, travels within 14 days can be cancelled. A medical certificate is required, but this can be presented after a travel has been cancelled. Re-funding will be done upon presentation of said medical certificate to TripX.
Travels with cancellation protection
Standard terms and conditions apply. Acute illness is to be verified by a medical certificate, but this can be presented after the travel has been cancelled. Re-funding will be done upon presentation of said medical certificate to TripX.

We recommend all travelers to investigate what is covered by your home insurance.

If you have already started your travel and find yourself at an affected destination, we recommend you keep yourself informed via your chosen airline and local authorities.

Albania
Due to restrictions decided by the government of Albania, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Due to a decision to restrict incoming travel taken by the government of Austria, to start on March 16, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Belgium
Due to restrictions decided by the government of Belgium, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Brasil

Due to restrictions decided by the government of Macedonia on March 16, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Malta

  • Due to the quarantines rules announced on March 13, all trips to Malta are cancelled during the coming 7 days. Affected customers have been contacted.
  • The Maltese authorities have requested all travels to/from Germany, France, Spain and Switzerland to be cancelled during the coming 7 days. Affected customers have been contacted.

Morocco
Due to a decision to restrict incoming travel taken by the government of Morocco on March 15, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Montenegro

Qatar

Serbia

Turkey
Due to the turkish governments restrictions on incoming travel (from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria and Netherlands), all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

Ukraine
Due to restrictions decided by Ukraine on March 17, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

United Arab Emirates
Due to restrictions decided by United Arab Emirates as of March 17, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

United Kingdom
Due to restrictions decided by the UK government, all travels with a departure within 7 days will be canceled on an ongoing basis. Affected customers have been contacted.

USA
Due to the decision made by the US government to ban all incoming flights from Schengen*, All trips from Schengen countries, to all destination in USA between March 13 and April 13 2020 are cancelled. Affected customers have been contacted.

*Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Update 14/3: UK is now also included in the ban. All travels during the coming 14 days will be cancelled. Affected customers have been contacted.
