South Beach
This is the most well-known beach area in Miami. Here you’ll find wide sandy beaches, turquoise water, and iconic Art Deco buildings along Ocean Drive. Perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and people-watching.
Art Deco District
A historic area with well-preserved buildings from the 1930s and 40s. It offers a unique insight into the architecture that has made Miami world-famous.
Little Havana
The Cuban heart of Miami. Stroll along Calle Ocho, taste authentic Cuban coffee, and soak up the atmosphere of cigar smoke, domino games, and Latin rhythms.
Wynwood
A creative district known for its street art. Wynwood Walls is an open-air gallery where the walls are covered in large, colorful artworks. The area is also home to many galleries, cafés, and microbreweries.

Passport and Entry Requirements
ESTA
Danish citizens may travel to the USA for vacation and stay for up to 90 days without a visa. To do so, you must apply for an entry permit (ESTA). It’s best to apply at least 3 days before departure. A valid ESTA is good for 2 years, or until your passport expires.
Nordic citizens do not need a visa to visit the USA, but they must have both an ESTA and a machine-readable e-passport. You should apply for ESTA no later than 72 hours before departure to be allowed to board your flight. It’s important that the information in your application matches your passport. You apply and pay for ESTA yourself on the official website. The application costs 14 USD. You’ll need to provide your ESTA number when checking in at the airport.
E-passport
Since April 1, 2016, in addition to an approved ESTA, travelers must have an e-passport valid throughout their stay in the USA. The e-passport is marked with a special symbol on the front and contains an integrated electronic chip.
An e-passport is the same as a biometric passport. All passports issued in Denmark are now biometric. Travelers with foreign passports should pay special attention to this requirement.
Other Practical Information
Taxis
Taxis are available in all major cities. They are easy to use, and prices are fixed regardless of the company. It is not possible to negotiate the fare.
Flights
From Scandinavia, SAS and Norwegian offer direct flights to some of the most popular destinations in the USA.
Tipping
Tipping is expected in most service industries. At restaurants, you should tip around 15–20%, in taxis about 10%, and for luggage assistance at hotels or airports around 1–2 USD per bag, and 1–2 USD per day for housekeeping.
Tourist Tax
Hotels in the USA charge a resort fee and local tax, paid directly at the hotel. This fee covers amenities such as wifi. It is mandatory to pay, and the exact amount is determined upon arrival. Also note that most hotels in the USA have a minimum age requirement of 21 years – meaning at least one person in the party must be 21 or older.
