South Turkey

The best sunshine coast in Turkey is without doubt the Antalya Coast, which has many popular destinations. With its long beaches, green mountains, affordable shopping and historical attractions, this area has quickly become the most visited one in Turkey. With over 300 sunny days a year it’s also the place with the most sunshine, and it isn’t difficult to understand why many people come back year after year.

The pine-covered Taurus Mountains runs along the Mediterranean and gives you stunning green scenery. Up in the mountains there are many hidden restaurants where a classic Turkish breakfast, kahvalti, is served. More genuine than this is hard to find. The Taurus Mountains are also a popular place when it’s hot, as the air up here is cooler and less humid. Down by the Mediterranean you will find lovely beaches that invites many nice moments under the Turkish sun.

During your vacation on the Antalya Coast you will never be bored. If you would like a break from the sun and swimming for a day, there are many other things to see and do. First there are historical remains; the Roman period and the Ottoman era, that is evidence of the long and exciting Turkish history. A trip to the castle in Alanya or the amphitheatre in Side are particularly recommended. For those who want shopping, you have come to the right place. The shopping is affordable and here you can make a bargain on everything in both markets and exclusive boutiques. Don’t forget that you can haggle on almost everything!

All inclusive hotels are widespread as basically all hotels offers this feature. If you are looking for an easy and comfortable vacation this is perfect and along the Turkish south coast it’s cheaper than the rest of the destinations in the Mediterranean.

But don’t forget that there are plenty of nice restaurants, hip bars and exciting nightclubs to visit on the destinations. After a long day in the sun you can sit in peace and enjoy a quiet walk to a cosy restaurant to start the evening with a tasty meal. The Turkish kitchen counts as the third best in the world!
