Welcome to Warsaw! With its selection of cosy cafes, cool nightclubs and charming bars, the city has been branded “the new Berlin”. Historical sights, nice walks, and good local food all for a cheap price, makes Poland’s capital a popular destination for a fun weekend break. Travelling from London, the flight time is less than 2.5 hours. It’s not surprising that this charming city has taken Europe by storm.
So pack your sunglasses, the umbrella and your sneakers, and gather your closest friends – it’s time for a weekend in Poland’s Warsaw.
Warsaw’s public transfer consists of bus, tram and metro options. The metro is the fastest and most comfortable, especially during rush hour. The same ticket is valid for all three options and can be bought in several kiosks. A one-way ticket is 2,40-2,80 zloty – no matter the destination. Taxis are scattered all around the city and are cheap. Sometimes they will try to fool tourists, so make sure the taxi meter is running.
If you are planning to ride the bus all day, you can buy a ”Warsaw tourist card”. The card includes entrance to the city’s museums, travel with the public transfer, and several discounts.
