Crete

Crete is a multifaceted island that can satisfy most people’s idea of a great vacation. We have many years of experience arranging trips to this fantastic island. Most tourists choose to travel to the northeast side of Crete, near Chania. There are two airports on Crete – Chania on the west side and Heraklion on the east side.

We offer a well-balanced selection of hotels which meet the needs of most people on vacation on Crete. In our selection of hotels, you can choose between small, cosy, and charming hotels, medium-sized family hotels, and complete resort hotels. What they all have in common is that we have chosen them based on their location. You’re on vacation and should never be too far away from the beach or the typical traditional Greek tavern.

If you haven’t been to Crete before, you have to go there, and if you have been there before, you’re welcome to go back.

There are many good reasons to go Crete, and these are some:

‘Ouzo’ is an extremely popular liquor in Greece. Just the scent of ouzo can make the most fearless person hesitate, and the taste usually makes a sip of it the first and the last time. In Crete, people drink ‘raki’ which is like a kamikaze mission. The hair on your neck will stand on end, sweat will cover your forehead, and you’ll have to catch your breath, but the glass of raki must be emptied. If you haven’t tasted this drink, noble according to the islanders, you’ve never been to Crete. If it’s difficult to find a reason to taste it, just pretend raki is good for digestion.

A visitor’s first impression is that the coast of Chania is just another tourist trap, but nothing could be further from the truth. A closer look will reveal that the local residents live side by side with the tourists. Just a couple of metres away from the lagoon-shaped pools of the hotels, you’ll find the Greek rural atmosphere, and further away there are lush hills, genuine small farms, olive groves, and vineyards. Abandon the tourist routes every now and then to get a taste of the real Crete.

The same can be said about Chania, an extraordinarily picturesque and romantic port. You will never get tired of Chania, of strolling around in the narrow alleys and imbibing the atmosphere. Chania is a must during your vacation on Crete.

Fly to Crete.

The most common flight alternative to Crete is either charter flights or flights with low-cost airlines like Ryanair and Norwegian. You can also fly with Aegean Airlines, which offers flights to Crete with a layover in, for example, Athens. When you search on Norwegian Holidays, you’ll always find the all available flight alternatives for the dates of your choice.

Transfer to Your Hotel on Crete

If you want a transfer from the airport to your hotel, it’s easy to get this when you book with us. We offer taxi and bus transfers on Crete and in the Chania area. The bus is often the cheapest choice, but it might stop at one or several hotels. If you take a taxi to and from Chania airport, you go straight to your hotel. It’s a bit more expensive but more comfortable.

Accommodation Tax

Greece has introduced an ‘accommodation tax’ for all commercial overnight stays. The tax is to be paid directly at the hotel at check-in.
