Nestled among the captivating Canary Islands, Lanzarote stands as a unique gem, celebrated for its otherworldly landscapes, volcanic terrain, and a harmonious blend of natural beauty and artistic allure. This Spanish island, shaped by volcanic eruptions in the 18th century, boasts stunning contrasts, from its rugged coastlines and lunar-like landscapes to its charming villages and vibrant cultural scene. With its striking scenery and artistic influence, Lanzarote promises an unforgettable adventure for every traveler.

Where should you stay?

Puerto del Carmen

Puerto del Carmen is the largest and most diverse vacation destination in Lanzarote. The most outstanding parts are the long boardwalk, the beaches and the huge number of restaurants, bars, shops and beach cafés. The seven kilometre long boardwalk runs through all of Puerto del Carmen. It starts in the old blocks down by the port, passes by the popular beach Playa Grande and runs all the way to the beaches Playa Pocillos and Matagorda.

Alongside the boardwalk you will find small shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. In the huge shopping malls of Puerto del Carmen you will find a number of international retail stores. At night you will find chic and trendy music bars with live music as well as clubs open all night long. In the cozy harbour district the atmosphere is extra charming and nice. Here you´ll find fine fish restaurants as well as rustic Canary taverns, which will make your mouth water.

Costa Teguise

This vacation destination is situated north of Lanzarote’s biggest city Arrecife, which is a popular beach destination with its small shops, sea food restaurants, tapas bars and beautiful beaches. The golf course and the perfect wind surfing opportunities makes this place a particularly popular destination for those wishing to stay active during their vacation.

In Costa Teguise you have both cities and a golf course in close by. To the old capital of Lanzarote, Teguise, it will only take you fifteen minutes travelling by local bus. A tip is to go there on Sundays as the huge market dominates the city. You have to see the large church on the town square. It is even closer to the island’s main city, Arrecife, where you will find a proper city pulse. The golfers will have their hands full only three kilometres away, at Golf Costa Teguise.

Playa Blanca

Furthest south on the coast you will find the sun- and beach gem Playa Blanca. This vacation destination used to be a small fishing island. Playa Blanca has really managed to keep its old charm. During your vacation in Playa Blanca you will most likely enjoy the nice atmosphere and the lovely beaches.

In the Playa Blanca area there are many nice beaches, easy to discover from the boardwalk. The finest beaches in Lanzarote, commonly known as the Papagayo beaches, are also in close proximity.

Along the Playa Blanca’s well liked and popular boardwalk there are many restaurants, one next to another. Here you´ll find the delicacies fresh from the sea, such as swordfish and octopus. Of course it is also possible to get Spanish specialties and international dishes.

After you have eaten it is nice to sit down at a café or at a bar and enjoy the bustling streets and the ocean view. In the newly built and exclusive yacht harbour, Marina Rubicón, you will find a relaxed atmosphere with restaurants, cafés, bars and chic boutiques. There is a popular market held here a few times per week.
