Jordan

Jordan, a land of ancient wonders and breathtaking landscapes, enthralls travelers with its rich history, warm hospitality, and diverse cultural heritage. From the rose-red city of Petra to the vast desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan offers an unforgettable journey through time and nature.

Capital: Amman

Official Language(s): Arabic

Currency: Jordanian Dinar (JOD)

Time Zone: Eastern European Time (EET)

Seasonal Highlights: The spring months of March to May and the autumn months of September to November provide mild temperatures, making it comfortable to explore the country’s historical sites and natural wonders. Springtime brings blooming flowers and lush landscapes, while autumn offers pleasant weather for outdoor activities and desert excursions. Winter (December to February) can be cool, especially in the evenings, but it’s an excellent time to visit if you prefer fewer crowds and want to explore the ancient sites without the heat of summer. Jordan’s captivating history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality promise a remarkable journey filled with cultural immersion and unforgettable experiences.

Customs and traditions: In Jordan, they have a pretty relaxed view on dresscode. In mosques and in other holy places you should show respect, even by choosing the correct clothes for the occasion. We recommend that your clothes cover knees and shoulders.

During Ramadan, the local commerce is a bit quieter – many businesses are closed and you can experience services that might not be as quick as usual. During Ramadan it is extremely unusual that alcohol will be served before sunset. On some destinations and hotels alcohol is not served at all, while others serve alcohol only in a specific place or it can only be allowed in the room. During Ramadan there is usually no entertainment.
